Courses and Programs
The courses we
deliver at Balag Institute at the present are three: Maktab course, Hifzul
Quran, and Alim Course.
Maktab Course
Aim and
Objective: Aim of this course is to provide basic teachings of Islam. By
completing this course children will be able to recite the Quran correctly and
memorize at least 20-30 suras from Juz Amma. This course enables them to
understand what they read and recite in their prayers. They will be able to
answer the questions about the basic faith and five pillars of Islam. They will
be able to call Azan and lead the prayer when needed. Children will also be
motivated to practice Islam in their everyday life. In addition, this course
will encourage children to gain knowledge continuously in their entire life
from authentic sources.
Age: 4-12 years (it will take 8 years to
complete the course or 6 years for advanced children)
Days: 3 Days (Mon-wed-Friday /Tues-Thurs-Saturday)
Time: 4:30hrs (4:30-6:00pm/6:15-7:45pm)
Subject: 1. Qaida-Quran and
Tajweed (Read, recite, memorize, and understand)
2. Islamic Studies (Aqaid,
Akhlaq, Fiqh, Adiyat, Qasas, Seerat and Tarikh)
3. Basic Quranic Arabic
(Writing, learning basic words and suras meaning)
Hifzul-Quran Course
Aim And
Objective: This course is for children who aim to become hafiz in the future.
It will enable children to recite the Quran accurately and melodiously, following
Tajweed rules, and prepare them to recite the Quran fluently. Children will also
begin to memorize from Juz Amma (part 30) and try their best to memorize other
Juzes. At the same time, they will learn
basic concepts and teachings from their Islamic studies syllabus. In addition,
they will be able to write Arabic sentences and Quranic verses.
Age: 6-12 years (it will take 3 years to
complete or 2 years for advanced children)
Days: 5 Days (Mon-wed-Friday + Saturday and Sunday)
Time: 10hrs (5:00-7:00pm/6:00-8:00pm)

Alim course
Aim and
Objective: Aim of this course is to prepare children to achieve higher
education in Quranic learning and Islamic studies in the future and become A’lim. Children
will be able to learn more about Quranic recitation with Tajweed and understand
the basic words and sentences. They will be able to understand Islam in a deeper
way which inspires them to become A’lim in the future.
Age: 12-18 years (it will take 6 years to
complete the course or 5 years for advanced children)
Days: Saturday-Sunday
Time: 4 hrs (10:30am-12:30pm or 5pm-7pm)
